In the winter of 2022 we had a unique opportunity for our members to experience making traditional Indigenous frame drums.  We were fortunate to have be led through this process by Glenn Patterson, who began the workshop with a smudging ceremony and blended traditional teachings throughout this drum making workshop.  Glen is an artist, drum-maker, singer, storyteller, educator and filmmaker. He believes that the drum as your ‘centre’, your connection to the earth, can become an empowering tool to self-awareness and realization. Glenn also facilitates cultural ceremonies and a men’s warrior program.

We now offer these beautifully made drums on loan to our community partners for drumming classes at local mental health housing sites.
