programs for beginners
ukulele lessons
TUESDAY 4:00-5:00 pm
This continuous-entry, beginner class is led by Avram McCagherty. Ukulele is a fun, simple and versatile instrument that everyone can enjoy. The teaching style in this group is immersive and in a group setting (not one-on-on lessons). Seasoned participants can choose to move up to the Ukulelians Performance group, when they feel ready.
We meet Tuesdays from 4-5 pm.
Some instruments and music books are available on loan, and we will prioritize them for those experiencing financial barriers. Supplies are limited and will vary depending on the number of participants at any given time.
If we run out, we recommend purchasing from Long & McQuade or Tapestry Music.

guitar lessons
SUNDAY 4:00-5:30pm
These group lessons are continuous entry for total beginners right up to upper-intermediate level guitar players. The instructor will meet you where you are at with some individual attention and instruction, within a group atmosphere. Players can work on songs they choose individually (with help), as well as explore jamming as a group with beginner level songs. We may have more experienced players available as volunteers, to assist with learning.
There is room for more advanced players to come and collaborate freely or to work on their skills. Drop-ins are welcome at any time. Come and try it out, see if it’s a fit for you. Bring your own guitar or use one of ours. We have some guitars available on loan.
Acoustic, electric, standard or bass guitar: all types of learners are welcome! We meet Sundays from 4:00 to 5:30 pm (except long weekends).
