our music lessons
This continuous-entry, beginner class is led by Avram McCagherty. Ukulele is a fun, simple and versatile instrument that everyone can enjoy. Some instruments are available to borrow. Seasoned participants can move on to join the Ukulelians Performance group. We meet Tuesdays from 4 pm to 5 pm.
Learn a new band instrument with music director Nick LaRiviere! Some instruments are available to borrow. Those starting from scratch are encouraged to begin in September and progress through the year with their fellow students. Previously experienced musicians are welcome at any time, either to pick up a new instrument or brush up on their skills. Those progressing faster can move up to Skills Bands or one of our other performance groups. Lessons are on Wednesdays from 11:00 – 11:55 am.
This group will give Beginner Band graduates a place to continue learning their instrument in the “Standard of Excellence: Book 2″ level. This band is also suitable for someone who wants to get back to playing an instrument they have played in the past. New members are welcome on an ongoing basis. Nick La Riviere directs the group. Join them on Wednesdays from 12-12:55 pm.
This program is continuous entry for total beginners right up to upper-intermediate level guitar players. The “hummingbird method” facilitates the lessons: Steve will meet you where you are at with individual attention and instruction within a group atmosphere. There is room for more advanced players to collaborate freely or to work on their skills. Drop-ins are welcome at any time. Come and try it out. See if it’s a fit for you. Bring your own guitar or use one of ours.
Acoustic, electric, classical, standard or bass guitar: all types of learners are welcome! We meet Sundays from 4:00 to 5:30 pm (except long weekends).
